Non-fiction books include things like biographies which can be really fun to read if the person has had an eventful life and the book is written well. Non fiction novels can also be quite boring some times since its based on real life but the opposite can be quite true as well. I have a friend that went to Oxford and he cringes at the mention of anybody reading anything other than non fiction literature.
